Essential SAP Mapping Matrix Joins and Filters

1

Have you ever wonderedĀ how you should join together all of the SAP tables and fields that you are able to get out of your SAP system?

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā Ā You might also be wondering which fields you should filter on before you get the data out of the SAP system. For some SAP tables, it is quite obvious what the join keys should between the tables (for example, if you have a header table and a detailed table, you can easily find the join keys between those by consulting a site such as LEANX).Ā

However, in other cases, the join field is not always immediately obvious.

For example,Ā

… if you are using the REGUH table to analyze payment run logs, then you might not realize that the field that enables you to join back to the general ledger table is the VBLNR field (this field name being a bit different to BELNR in the general ledger).

What if you want to join the supplier auxiliary ledger table to the general ledger table… is the BUZEI field the same in both or not?

We may spend a lot of time searching on blogs in order to find the answer, or we might even spend even more time trying to unravel the SAP ABAP code of various SAP transactions. However, if you are like me – you probably don’t have so much time.

In that case, you could use our ESSENTIAL_SAP_MAPPING_MATRIX_JOINS_AND_FILTERS.xlsx file in order to have a quick reference to look up the answer that you are seeking.

This special Excel file gives you – not only the list of all the essential SAP tables and fields that you would need if you wanted to build out the 300Framework (list of 300 Must-have data analytics for audit) – but also shows you how those tables and fields join together and which fields you should filter on if you are downloading data from SAP.

Just send us your email and we will send you the spreadsheet that lists out allĀ essential SAP mapping matrix joins and filters.
